OCT IMAGING

Recognising the value of Optical Coherence Topography, EyesWest was one of the first practices in the South-West to offer high quality Zeiss Cirrus-OCT retinal imaging to our patients. OCT imaging is the ultimate tool for precise diagnosis and treatment of retinal eye disease. It is invaluable in the detection and management of many conditions, but especially AMD (macular degeneration) and glaucoma.

The instrument never touches your eye so there is no discomfort. It's safe and requires only a few minutes of your time. Other machines show the surface of retinal structures, but the Cirrus-OCT shows us what is beneath the surface, much like an ultrasound does.

Together with a full optometric examination, this information assists us to make important clinical judgements about your eyes.
